Spiky Shower Curtain Buy

To add to that shocking statistic, an average showerhead will use around 12 litres of water every minute. This means if you are taking a 10 minute-long shower, you will be using approximately 150 litres of water just to wash your body once a day. These facts are what inspired Buecher to introduce SPIKY the shower curtain to the world.

SPIKY only gives you four minutes to have an efficient shower, and if you exceed that time all the spikes inflate and disrupt your shower session. The spikes inflate if they are exposed to running water continuously for four minutes or more.

Although SPIKY is a fantastic idealistic and artistic solution to curb the current water crisis and help contribute to the betterment of our planetary wellbeing, is it a realistic solution? Sure, if the product comes into the commercial market, many people will likely buy it and try to do their part in water conservation. But is it only going to remain a tantalising conversation piece? There is a multitude of other shower factors to delve into.

Another common mistake that we all are guilty of is using our shower time as our go-to reflection period. By using that time to think about our day, practice how to win arguments or create imaginary situations in our head, we soothe our minds, but at the cost of our planet. Thus, being mindful of consciously focusing on just the act of showering will take us a long way.

You can also switch to taking a bucket shower instead of using a showerhead. This is a common way of bathing across many countries and will save many litres of water if used the right way. This means using small buckets and a maximum of two buckets of water for the entire shower.

So you think it's okay to continue with your 15-minute shower because you've got your super-efficient, on-demand water heater and extra-conservative shower head? Perhaps you've even gone as far as funneling your shower water into a personal greywater system. Well, your shower curtain has heard it all, and thanks to artist Elisabeth Buecher, it's not taking any more of your excuses. Your soapy butt is getting kicked out after 4 minutes, when the shower curtain Elisabeth designed inflates with spikes.

Sunset: Where can we buy the curtains?Buecher: At the moment, it is not a commercial product but an educational art installation. I would love to develop it into a commercial product, but I would need to find a business partner.

I looked at the environmental issue of excessive water consumption. I designed a series of water-saving shower curtains which inflate after four minutes spent under the water, taking over the space and discouraging long water-wasting showers.

Well now help is at hand thanks to an eco-warrior shower curtain which turns into a wall of spikes (inflatable plastic spikes we should point out) after just four minutes (FOUR MINUTES!), to curb your water-wasting showers.

Showers account for about 17 percent of the water used indoors, and long, hot showers have a hand in ruining the environment. As per the EPA, a standard shower head wastes 2.5 gallons of water per minute, and if it is warm, then we are running energy-rich water down the drain.

If red mold develops on your shower curtain, place the shower curtain in the bathtub. Add 2 quarts of water and 4 tablespoons of non-chlorine bleach. Let the shower curtain sit for an hour, and then scrub and rinse with warm water.

You can also combine two parts hydrogen peroxide with one-part water in a spray bottle. Lay the shower curtain flat on the floor. Spray the curtain with the peroxide mixture and allow the solution to sit for 30 minutes. Scrub and rinse with warm water. 041b061a72
