What is Rainbow Six Mobile?

A mobile version of the popular tactical shooter

Rainbow Six Mobile is a mobile version of Siege with the same 5v5 round-based, Operater-headed, action. Ubisoft has officially unveiled the game and confirmed that it will be released in 2022 for Android and iOS devices. The game will feature some of the classic operators, maps, and modes from Rainbow Six Siege, as well as some new ones designed exclusively for mobile. The game will also have its own progression system, customization options, and events.

How does it differ from Rainbow Six Siege?

Similar gameplay, but adapted for mobile devices

Rainbow Six Mobile will have the same core gameplay as Rainbow Six Siege, which means you will compete in Rainbow Six's classic Attack vs. Defense game modes. You will play as an Attacker or Defender in fast-paced 5v5 matches and face intense close-quarter combat while making timely tactical decisions. You will also be able to use weapons and gadgets to breach through destructible walls and ceilings or rappel from the roof and break through windows. However, Rainbow Six Mobile will also have some differences from Rainbow Six Siege, such as shorter matches and game sessions, customized controls in the HUD, and optimized graphics and performance for mobile devices.

Different operators, maps, and modes

Rainbow Six Mobile will also have a different roster of operators than Rainbow Six Siege. Some of the operators from Siege will be available in Mobile, such as Ash, Thermite, Doc, Rook, Fuze, Kapkan, etc., but there will also be some new ones that are exclusive to Mobile, such as Blaze, Frost, and Ghost. Each operator will have their own unique abilities and gadgets that will give them an edge in combat. For example, Blaze can use a flamethrower to set fire to enemies and objects, Frost can deploy a trap that freezes enemies in place, and Ghost can turn invisible for a short duration. You will be able to unlock and customize these operators with different weapons, skins, and attachments. Rainbow Six Mobile will also have a different selection of maps and modes than Rainbow Six Siege. Some of the maps from Siege will be available in Mobile, such as House, Consulate, Bank, etc., but there will also be some new ones that are designed for mobile gameplay. For example, there will be a map set in a shopping mall, a map set in a carnival, and a map set in a train station. Each map will have its own layout, objectives, and environmental hazards. You will be able to play these maps in different game modes, such as Secure the Area, where you have to capture and hold a designated zone, and Bomb, where you have to plant or defuse a bomb. More modes will be added later, such as Hostage Rescue and Team Deathmatch. When will Rainbow Six Mobile release?

Expected to launch in 2022, but no exact date yet

Rainbow Six Mobile is expected to launch sometime in 2022, but Ubisoft has not announced an exact release date yet. The game is still in development and testing stages, and Ubisoft wants to make sure that the game is polished and balanced before releasing it to the public. However, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will be free-to-play and will support cross-play and cross-progression between Android and iOS devices. This means that you will be able to play with your friends regardless of their device and switch between devices without losing your progress.
