I Need To Buy A Suit

Remember that blazers are, basically, the middle ground between sport coats and suit jackets. This means that making them as versatile as possible is in your best interests, especially when starting your blazer collection. You can never go wrong with a crisp, classic, navy. It will pair well with semi-formal pants for events like daytime weddings. It also transitions just as easily into a casual look over jeans.

The fit does matter but blazers are a little bit more relaxed than formal suits. They typically have structured shoulders, so make sure these fit well, and consider a little tailoring through the rest of the jacket, too.

A suit jacket is usually made from superior fabrics to sport coats and blazers. Not because the others are inferior items in any way, but rather because the suit jacket, as part of a full suit, is designed for a different kind of wear. High-quality worsted wool is the most common suit jacket fabric, but you get luxury versions like mohair and even silk. Twill, gabardine, and corduroy are more unusual options.

Sport coats and blazers open up a whole new world in the male wardrobe, giving you a wide staging post between scruffy and formal. You no longer need to either wear a suit or go casual. You can work a business casual office like a pro, and look smart and put-together no matter where you roam. If you want to establish yourself as a powerful presence and a confident, elegant gentleman who owns a room and turns heads wherever he goes, you need a wardrobe to match.

In general, a traditional blazer is a great choice for business environments, formal functions (like weddings), and night events. If a suit could still be worn without looking too out of place, a blazer is the best bet. Sport coats will take you through day-to-day life, casual events, and day events. Wear a blazer to a dinner date and a sport coat to a coffee date.

As you might imagine, the higher the Super number the finer the wool and the tighter the weave, making the cloth softer and more luxurious. Whilst higher quality means a higher price, the investment made will pay off over the years. The most desirable fabrics for the corporate environment include woollen suits and if you want to splash out then cashmere/high twist wool blends are quite extraordinary to wear.

Fit from the shoulder first, look for a neat waist and a slim sleeve. These are three key characteristics you need to know when buying a suit and dealing with a suit tailor. As long as you have these three things in mind when choosing a suit, your jacket should fit accurately and look modern.

Single-breasted suits can be worn for most occasions whether for work or a party. A peaked lapel is more dramatic than a notch, but a notch is more versatile. Personally, I like the sophisticated aesthetic of a wide notched lapel. It looks rich and bold, but not overly extravagant as a peak lapel sometimes does.

Finally, the colour of a suit is also very important. Rich, patterned grey and bright, plain navy suits are popular colours that are trending this coming season and for next winter too. Grey and navy are also more interesting than black and look good against most complexions.

Buying a suit shouldn’t be hard, but it is. In a perfect world you’d go to a trusted store, talk to a wise old-timer, and get a well-made suit at a fair price. We know that’s rarely the case. Yet a suit remains the most expensive thing in your closet. That can infuriate you or you can accept it. But since every time you wear a suit is a serious occasion shouldn’t it should show you in the best light?

The equation changes if you need a suit every day for work or for your wedding. I’m going to write about suits—assessing them and acquiring them—more over the next few months. But let’s start with the fundamentals.

As soon as you know your event date. If you need to rent for an event that is fewer than sixteen (16) days (21 days for AK, HI) from the time of order, please contact us for assistance in setting up your event.

You can log into your account to update your Fit Profile up to thirty (30) days before your event. If you need to change your Fit Profile and your event is fewer than thirty (30) days away, please contact us for assistance.

Our suits and tuxedos can be worn by male or female customers. However, the online fit algorithm works off male measurements. If you are a female customer looking to wear one of our suits or tuxedos, please contact our Customer Experience Team and they will work closely with you to get the perfect fit.

For Slim Fit suits & tuxedos, the pants are slimmer down the leg, creating a very tapered look. The tapering of the pant begins in the hips and backside, which creates a more fitted appearance. The pant opening around the ankle is also smaller, which allows for a shorter hem to show sock.

You can pay for your rentals at any point before delivery. However, all rentals should be paid for 16 days prior to your event to ensure a timely delivery of your order. Any deliveries made after this may incur additional rush delivery fees and will need to be paid for through our Customer Experience Team. Contact us today if you have any questions.

For destination weddings outside of the U.S., we recommend that you receive your shipment prior to leaving the country and travel to your destination with your attire. We offer extended rental options at both daily and weekly rates. You will need to contact our Customer Experience Team to set this up.

There is a late fee of $25.00 per day for each rental kept longer than three (3) days after the event. If you know in advance that you will need the rental order longer than the time allotted, please contact us to make special delivery/return arrangements. We offer extended rental fixed fees.

Cancellations will need to be made by contacting the Customer Experience team. You have up to 21 days before your event to cancel your event. If you already paid for your order, you'll receive a full refund. If you cancel your event within 21 days of your event date and your order has already shipped, there will be a $40 charge to cover shipping and handling expenses.

If you are a member of an event (EX: groomsmen, father of the bride or groom, etc) and cannot attend and need to cancel, please contact Customer Experience so we can confirm details with the event owner and process any refunds required. Please be patient as all changes to any event member status must be confirmed with the event owner.

For destination weddings, we typically recommend you receive your suit/tuxedo order prior to traveling and travel with your garments. If you'll need to hold on to your suit/tuxedo for longer than the standard three days, contact our Customer Experience Team to work out an affordable extended rental price that suits your travel needs, and avoid late fees. Daily and weekly extension prices available.

Of course! Our event management platform makes it easy for you to set up an event and assign as many or as few roles as you'd like. Start by creating a new event and selecting suit/tuxedo rental order and monitor the progress of each event member.

When you create an event, select your event date and build your look. If you would like a separate outfit for your groomsmen and wedding party, you can build additional looks. Once you finalize the outfits, proceed to the next step and add all your members that will be renting a suit or tuxedo and their role. Once all members are added, assign the outfits you built to each member.

Groomsmen and wedding party members can easily be added or changed up to sixteen (16) days before your event by visiting your event details page in your account and adding their contact information to the wardrobe/role you would like them to select. If you need to make a change to or remove an event member inside of sixteen (16) days from the event or after the member has paid, please contact us for assistance.

Yes! If your event is less than 60 days away, contact our Customer Experience Team and we will guide you through everything you need to make sure you have the perfect look in time for your big day. You may even still have time for a Free Home Try-On!

For customers age fifteen (15) and under, we will ask for more specific measurements. All you need is a tape measure and a friend. If you don't have a tape measure, don't worry, you can request one while filling out the Fit Profile. Just follow our step-by-step guide and save the measurements on your profile.

Free home try-ons are available for grooms, or wedding couple. To order your home try-on, you must first create an account and select your look from our wide range of suit/tux styles and accessories. Once you've picked a look, you can then order a free home try-on from your account. If you run into any issues, contact our Customer Experience Team for help. 041b061a72
